Hi, I'm Sorcha, the face (and hands!) behind Dotey.
Dotey actually started life as hen party favours. A friend asked for personalised bracelets for her hen do, I said yes before I'd even worked out how to make one and somewhere between Googling bead suppliers and staying up far too late stringing names together, I was hooked.
Then I became a mum. Suddenly every bag I owned was a nappy bag and somehow they all looked identical in every changing room and cubby. So I made myself a little personalised charm to spot mine at a glance and then made one for a friend. Then another. And another.
That's really how Dotey came to be: not a big business plan, just a habit of making something useful and pretty for the people around me, one bead at a time.
These days, every charm is still handmade by me, in Ireland, usually with a one-year-old climbing over me and two slightly unhinged cockapoos supervising from somewhere nearby. It's chaotic but it's exactly how Dotey should be made, with a bit of love, a bit of chaos and a name on it that makes it yours.
